Why We Do It

At Forge Martial Arts, we recognize a significant disconnect in society: many view martial arts and self-defense as activities only for kids or athletes, rather than essential skills. However, the reality we face today tells a different story. We invest in car insurance and health insurance "just in case," but when we need them, they often fall short, offering nothing in the way of prevention.

Martial arts and self-defense training are more than just a form of insurance—they are essential tools that empower you to prevent or mitigate potential threats to yourself and your loved ones. This training provides you with the confidence to walk through life with your head held high, knowing you're prepared for anything.

Our Training

Our classes all combine the techniques and training from a variety of styles from around the world. For their tests, students must show proficiency and knowledge appropriate for their belt level by demonstrating katas, combinations, self-defense "one steps", and RLS (real life scenarios) that compound from each previous belt, as well as show proficiency in competitive sparring and grappling.

To accomplish this, we teach varying techniques and fighting ideologies from the following styles:

Taekwondo - "The Way of the Hand and Foot,".

A Korean martial art established in the 1950s, TKD combines elements from Taekkyon, Gwonbeop, and karate. Taekwondo practitioners excel in dynamic footwork and movement, focusing primarily on powerful and versatile kicking techniques, along with various hand strikes and defensive blocks

Krav Maga- "Contact Combat".

An Israeli martial art developed in the 1930s, blending techniques from boxing, wrestling, aikido, judo, and karate. Known for its focus on real-world self-defense, Krav Maga emphasizes efficient and practical techniques, including strikes, grappling, and disarmament maneuvers. It prioritizes quick, decisive movements and adaptability to various threats.

Jeet Kune Do- "The Way of the Intercepting Fist".

Created by Bruce Lee in the 1960s as a hybrid martial art, JKD integrates elements from Wing Chun, fencing, boxing, and other martial arts. Jeet Kune Do emphasizes fluidity, minimal movement, and adaptability, focusing on intercepting an opponent's attack with speed, efficiency, and directness

Silat/FMA

These martial arts encompass a broad range of styles originating from Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and surrounding regions, developed over centuries. These "umbrella terms" describe systems known for their fluid and deceptive movements, which combine strikes, joint manipulations, throws, and ground fighting techniques. Practitioners excel in both armed and unarmed combat, often integrating weapons such as knives, sticks, and machetes. Silat, like its Southeast Asian counterparts, emphasizes adaptability, strategy, and close-range combat, focusing on using the opponent's force against them with precise and calculated movements.

Our mission

To empower individuals of all ages through disciplined martial arts training that fosters physical strength, mental resilience, and moral integrity. We are committed to creating a supportive, fun training environment where students can develop confidence, respect, and self-discipline, equipping them with the skills to succeed both inside and outside the dojo. Guided by Christian values, we strive to inspire each student to reach their full potential and become leaders in their communities.

Our vision

We aim to cultivate a generation of confident, disciplined, and compassionate leaders who embody the principles of respect, honor, and integrity. Through innovative programs and a commitment to personal growth, we strive to transform lives, build stronger communities, and leave a lasting legacy of positive impact.
